GOVERNMENT AFFAIRS – HOW TO WORK WITH THOSE IN OFFICE

Government continues to play an important role in the way businesses operate, and the decisions made by those in office can have a large impact on your organization. Zeppos & Associates’ knowledgeable staff understands the importance of working with government officials and has existing, positive relationships with many key elected and appointed public officials. The firm regularly meets and facilitates communications with appointed officials on both sides of the aisle. Efforts include assisting our clients in contacting and communicating with key government decision makers and developing the most effective ways to get materials and focused messages to them on behalf of our clients.

In addition, our firm’s principal, Evan N. Zeppos, APR, has more than 20 years of experience in the governmental and political arenas and maintains positive relationships with many elected and appointed local, state and federal officials in both parties. He has served as Wisconsin’s Deputy Banking Commissioner; chairman of the State Elections Board; deputy press secretary for two Wisconsin Governors; communications director for two members of the U.S. Congress; chief of staff for a member of the U.S. Congress; administrative assistant to a member of the Wisconsin Congressional delegation; and communications director for the U.S. House of Representatives Leadership.

Several Zeppos & Associates team members also have experience working in and covering government and politics. Another staff member worked in the Wisconsin legislature and several others have experience working as reporters covering major government stories.
